CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENTS

Neck & Back

Neck & Back

Neck and back pain are usually the result of aging, injury, or stress from daily activity which causes misalignment of the vertebrae in the spine. These misalignments (subluxations) put pressure on spinal nerves, discs, and surrounding tissues, often leading to tense muscles, pain, numbing, tingling, and can even result in loss of mobility.

Dr. Smith is skilled in identifying underlying issues causing neck and back pain, and can help you find relief through safe, non-invasive chiropractic methods. Treatment plans for neck and back pain typically include a series of manual adjustments and tension-relieving therapies.

Pregnancy

Chiropractic care during pregnancy is a common form of treatment for women seeking a natural alternative to pain relief during pregnancy. During pregnancy the human body undergoes a lot of changes and manipulation to prepare a woman for childbirth. Unfortunately, these changes can cause a woman to experience pain in areas like her back, hips, pelvis and sacroiliac joint (SI joint).

Seeing a chiropractor during pregnancy can help:

  • Reduce pressure on back and sciatic nerves

  • Relieve sacroiliac joint pain (SI joint)

  • Control symptoms of nausea

  • Reduce chance of a cesarean section (C-section)

Is getting a chiropractic adjustment when you’re pregnant safe?

Yes, chiropractors receive specific training in order to be capable of adjusting pregnant women safely and effectively. Each patient is assessed individually and each patient’s treatment is individually tailored to their specific needs.

For example, if a baby is in the breech position - a common technique to reposition the baby is to use the Webster Technique. The Webster Technique is a method chiropractors perform to help breech babies turn themselves in the womb, naturally. It is very important for a pregnant woman to confirm the chiropractor you choose is Webster Technique certified before making an appointment.
